She’s just fourteen. He’s 21 and a grown man. Is she too young to fall in love?
Kaisa is the new girl in town – again. When a messy divorce forces Kaisa’s mother to move to a small flat in an island suburb of Helsinki, Kaisa isn’t looking forward to another new school. But in Lauttasaari she meets Vappu Noren, and begins to spend all her days in Vappu’s large, chaotic house, filled with her three unruly siblings and their friends. Kaisa doesn’t notice that she is being quietly observed by the friend of Vappu’s brother, a much older, serious boy, called Matti.
Matti loves Kaisa at first sight. She is just the kind of innocent girl he’s been looking for. Matti makes careful plans to seduce Kaisa on Midsummer’s Eve. But is Kaisa too young to fall in love?

Reviews:
Leaves me wanting for more books from Helena Halme, could not put this down, even forgot my coffee! This is a great, independent, prequel to Helena Halme’s other books. Can well be read on its own but a must for anyone who has read her books before. It captures perfectly the period and really takes me back to my youth. It is lovely to get to know more about Kaisa’s past and I cannot wait to read more from this author! – 5***** on Goodreads
Beautifully written story. Best read with a cup of tea on the sofa. I was looking for something to read on the weekend when I stumbled across The Finnish Girl. It was the perfect book to enjoy whilst relaxing with a cup of tea on the sofa and a cheeky piece of cake! – 5***** on Amazon
I’ll be raising this book as the next book to read in my company book club! Incredibly powerful story and absolutely addictive. I was hooked from the first page. Already looking forward to the next one. –5***** on Amazon
