My new surprise favourite shop

October 19, 2012 by Helena Halme Leave a Comment

I'm having a strange fashion moment; I've started to enjoy wearing dresses. And not just any dresses but dresses made by the high-street fashion store, Hobbs.Yesterday on my trip to Birmingham to see daughter, I wore my latest Hobbs dress acquisition.I've been a fan of Hobbs for some time, but I've … [Read more...]

New jeans love: Nudie Jeans

December 7, 2011 by Helena Halme 3 Comments

I love shopping at Liberty's store in London (although my credit cards don't), and every time I'm in town for a meeting I suddenly find myself in this fantastic store. I don't quite understand how it happens....This time, as well as drooling over the new deliveries of designer handbags and jewellery … [Read more...]

Do you ever find yourself wearng the same pair of trousers day in day out? Those of you who've been reading this blog for a while know that I'm a fully paid for member of the Serial Buyers Association, and now it seems I have to start another society, one for terminal black jeans wearers.Since I … [Read more...]

My Nordic Adventure: Part Three – the rest of it (almost)

March 21, 2011 by Helena Halme 4 Comments

It's taken me all day to write this blog post about my wonderful, luxuriously long break 'at home' in Finland and Sweden. The words just haven't flown today, on my first day back in London. Even the internet has been intermittent - something to do with the large full moon, perhaps?Or it may be that … [Read more...]

Virtual shopping for the New Year

January 3, 2011 by Helena Halme 3 Comments

I'm going to have to start the new year with a new more effective budget drive. I had such a lot of lovely Christmas presents and also went a bit mad at the sales afterwards. On top of that my glasses broke before Christmas right after I did my back in, as if I wasn't feeling a bit low already. You … [Read more...]

Weight loss and money

September 29, 2010 by Helena Halme 12 Comments

There seems to be a correlation. Before doing my monthly bank account reconciliation (two months overdue), I thought I'd found a new miracle diet. It goes something like this:1. Take one small dog from the country to a top floor flat in a hilly part of London. Discover that you have to take him for … [Read more...]

A rainy day in Stockholm and the best jeans in the world

August 10, 2010 by Helena Halme 9 Comments

I've always loved Stockholm. Perhaps it's because I spent my formative years there, or it may just be all that water which surrounds the city and its beautiful buildings. In any case, when the opportunity arose to spend a day in Stockholm together with Husband and Daughter I grabbed it with both … [Read more...]

I was born to wear denim

April 13, 2010 by Helena Halme 12 Comments

I just love this look. My denim shirt is not quite D&G, but still works well with my 7 for Mankind jeans, a tan belt and tan boots. In the summer I'm going to use the shirt as a beach cover up, just as I did 15 years or so ago...or perhaps team it with a jeans skirt (which I'm yet to acquire) … [Read more...]

And then there were six! I can hardly believe it m And then there were six! I can hardly believe it myself that the Love on the Island series is now complete. Well, for now anyway - I’ve learned never to say never.
📚🧡
Last time I ended a series (The Nordic Heart), I went back and wrote another book because I had so many requests from readers to carry on.
✍🏻☺️
I have to say, I’m already missing Alicia and her island friends (and enemies😆). Perhaps I will revisit them all next year, who knows…
