The True Heart, the fifth book in my Nordic Heart Romance Series is out today. Whoop, whoop!
The First Reviews Are Already In
I’ve been delighted by the many emails I’ve received from my early readers regarding The True Heart. Many seem to have been quite deeply affected by it. This is no different from how I felt writing the story – I cried over my keyboard! It’s strange how writing can affect you even after so many books. (This is my seventh fiction title). But the most important people in this process are my readers, so I am absolutely thrilled that you’ve had the same reaction to The True Heart as I did!
In addition to the emails, you can imagine how delighted I was when this morning, I checked the Amazon page for The True Heart and found two reviews already there:
I really like the way Helena Halme writes. The tone of her books is always realistic and you really get close to the characters. As a Finnish woman who has lived in the UK for years, I can honestly say I can relate to what Kaisa is feeling and going through when visiting Finland or living and surviving in London, mostly dealing with all of it alone. The navy part of the books, on the other hand, has always been interesting and exotic, a peek into the unknown. I’d been really looking forward to the last book of the series, so I read it quickly. This book is darker and more serious than the others in the series, which was a bit of a shock. It deals with huge issues; fear of childlessness, AIDS, death, choices you make in life and those that are made for you by faith. Luckily Halme handles it all in a satisfying manner. Let me warn you, I needed a big box of tissues to get through the book, my heart was broken! I will really miss these characters!
I was so happy to start reading the final instalment of the series but devastated after I had read it far too quickly in one sitting on an airplane.
Tears were streaming down my face and the hostesses wondered if I was ok or had had a bereavement…
Slightly embarrassed I said that I was absolutely fine except that I was not! Finishing the last book in this series really felt like a bereavement and as if had lost dear friends that I had learned to care deeply about.
Not going into any detail of the plot so not spoil your enjoyment of the book I dare you not to shed a tear or too! Just see to that you have nothing urgent to do once you start reading. Looking forward to seeing which way the author will be taking in the hopefully not too distant future.
New Covers Are A Success!
Judging by the very first couple of days, I can cautiously predict that the new covers are a success too. The rebranding of the series seems to have worked – since all the books are now available to buy from iBooks, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, GooglePlay, Scribd, Thalia and many more e-book stores, as well as Amazon, I’m seeing a lot of sales on these other platforms, which is encouraging.
