The True Heart, the latest novel in The Nordic Heart Romance Series is now on pre-order!
‘Romance for the thinking woman.’
What is true happiness?
London 1990. When Kaisa suffers a third miscarriage, her submarine officer husband Peter is devastated. Kaisa, who has chosen a job with the BBC over the traditional life of a Navy wife on a marriage patch in Scotland, feels guilty. Has living apart from her husband to pursue a demanding career, contributed to her inability to keep hold of a baby?
But childlessness pales into insignificance when her old friend Rose tells Kaisa about a former lover’s serious illness. The consequences of Duncan’s condition could wreck Kaisa and Peter’s future.
And then life takes another heart-breaking twist … Can love conquer all?
The True Heart, the fourth, standalone, book in Helena Halme’s acclaimed The Nordic Heart romance series explores what true love is.
Series re-launch
If you have read my previous books, you may have noticed that there are some major changes afoot. To celebrate the fourth novel in my Nordic romance series, I will be re-publishing the whole series under a new name:
The Nordic Heart Romance Series
- The English Heart (previously The Englishman)
- The Faithful Heart (previously The Navy Wife)
- The Good Heart (previously The Good Officer)
- The True Heart
The Young Heart – Prequel novella (previously The Finnish Girl)
This rebranding exercise is exciting; I love the new covers and the new titles, but I didn’t take the decision lightly.
For some time now, I’ve suspected that the covers and titles of my Nordic romance series haven’t accurately conveyed the kind of books that they are.
The titles came originally about because of the first book in the series, The Englishman, was closely based on my life. I first wrote the novel on my blog as an explanation on how I came to be in England. I referred to my husband solely as The Englishman because I didn’t want to tell people his real name.
The story was written from the first-person point of view, much like an autobiography. It was only later when I rewrote the story, fictionalised and changed it to third person point of view, that I gave my heroine and hero names, and they emerged as Kaisa and Peter.
Giving the resulting novel the title, The Englishman, seemed natural to me, as did naming the other books in series in a similar way. However, I have come to understand that these titles are not descriptive enough of the stories within.
I sincerely hope you like the new series name, and agree with me that the new titles are more appropriate and exciting!
